Last night we wrapped up our 8th podcast episode with guests Derrick Haddock from Sundown Audio and Matthew Palumbo from AudioControl. The group had a great time together talking about their love for car audio. The Car Audio 101 segment was a hit with our viewers as you all had great questions for our guests.
Matthew Palumbo, the National Sales Manager for AudioControl, gave us an inside look at what they have been working on over the past year. Their new lines of speakers and subwoofers are rolling out to dealers soon and pack a punch. Big Jeff and Matthew also discussed what’s going on behind the scenes at AudioControl and how the recent acquisition gave them more room to expand their line of products. In the Car Audio 101 segment, Matthew gave us his favorite AudioControl product the DQDX which is a fantastic tool for any car audio installer.
Derrick Haddock, the Sipping and Warehouse Manager for Sundown Audio, also runs the Sundown Unofficial YouTube and Instagram pages. They post videos of dynos, demos, product reviews and whatever build they are working on next. It’s not just Sundown equipment they feature, they test a bunch of equipment from other manufacturers. Derrick shared his experience building audio setups and competing in major competitions across the country. In the Car Audio 101 segment he broke down how a dyno works.

Used this sub for my PC audio setup. I built a custom mini 4th order for it and it sounds great!
Used this amp for the sub stage in my Can Am SXS, I needed the compact size to fit in a specific location and it works great and sounds great. I really like that an amp this small in size still comes with a bass knob and set screw style terminals.
Jacket is a little stiff on this wire, it’s not the softer silicone jacket like on a lot of car audio speaker wire. Nonetheless it’s a good quality wire and solders well

First off I want to say thank you to Big Jeff and his whole team. I love the podcasts every week. Anyways, these amps are fantastic. I have 2 of them and they are absolute beasts. I can run them for an hour straight on 2 sundown zv6 18s and they barely get warm to the touch. The sound quality is better than any amp I've owned. I'm not even getting their full power either because I am running headway lithium which doesn't hold 14.4v. They literally almost get as loud as my 2 Brazilian 8k amps. If you got the electrical to run these, you will love them. Hands down the best amps I've ever owned. And they came very well packaged as always from Big Jeff Audio. I ordered during a holiday season and my shipping time was still very fast here in Asheville Nc. Anyways, my point is, these amps are amazing and I think they are discontinued so get them while Big Jeff still has some left. Thanks Big Jeff and his Team. Very happy with all of my purchases from you guys.
