I was skeptical of the performance from a $200 all included unit, but was massively impressed. 25hz tune for the box is true (although don’t expect a ton out of it that low) but it really shines 30-45hz. I have this in a trunk of an old cutlass and it shakes my foot pedals. It added the missing link that my car needed and was extremely easy to install. 5 stars.
This will be the second set, im still waiting on them to be shipped with the rest of my order, but the first set i bought 6 months ago were great , im looking forward to theses one's being just as nice once they ship with my basshead garage watt meter
I haven't hooked them up yet but I bought 3 so far for my car audio well see how they work out
I have only used this to charge one battery so far. I like the fact that there is no settings to mess with just hook it up and go.
I've got an earlier version of this Watt meter (15K) and it's a great unit. It easily allows you to find your lowest impedence so that you know you're not gonna damage your amplifier. It also lets you see the real time power numbers so you know exactly how hard you're pushing your amplifier. I also like to use it to test out amplifiers that I buy or repair to make sure they are working properly.
My only complaint is that it can't remember which screen mode it was in when you restart your vehicle. I like to see the Apparent Power, which is Raw power (Volts times Amps or VA mode), but whenever you cycle the system off and back on, it reverts back to the default screen, which is corrected power. This mode adds in the Power Factor which is a correction percentage and results in a reduced power number. Because the Power Factor can vary quite a bit, I think the Apparent Power mode is more realistic for people to use.
Without a doubt, this unit is way cheaper than the $450 AMM-1. I think that unit is more aimed at shop owners who are constantly moving it from vehicle to vehicle.
The Basshead Garage Watt meter is aimed more at the consumer who wants to install it and leave it in their vehicle so it's always there and running.
I definitely recommend it.
Pics are of me testing out an amp rated 300w at 4 ohm. It did really well.
