The Sundown Audio X-8 V.4 D4 is the king of standard cutout 8-inch subwoofers, setting the benchmark for extreme output, control, and durability in compact high-power bass systems. Building on the legacy of the X-8 v1, v2, and v3, the V.4 introduces a meticulously FEA-optimized spider and surround system, dramatically improving linearity, control, and usable excursion. The result is a subwoofer capable of approximately 19mm of linear one-way Xmax and over 2.4 inches peak-to-peak before the voice coil exits the gap.
At its core is a massive triple-stacked motor assembly, a 2.5-inch high-temperature voice coil, and a hyper-extended pole design that maximizes magnetic efficiency and power handling. An integrated aluminum magnet ID shorting ring reduces inductive distortion for cleaner, tighter bass at extreme output levels.
