Mechman's S Series alternators utilize an advanced 6-phase design that produces exceptional output while requiring less horsepower than traditional 3-phase alternators. Featuring 12 diodes, twin rectifier plates, and optimized airflow, this alternator is engineered for durability and dependable performance even under extreme operating conditions.
This alternator is designed for vehicles equipped with factory computer-controlled charging systems. While charging voltage will continue to be regulated by the vehicle's ECU/PCM, the alternator provides significantly increased amperage capacity under load and improves battery recovery after heavy use.
Important Installation Notes
- Requires a shorter serpentine belt due to the included 1.75" pulley.
- Not recommended for high-RPM racing applications.
- Compatible with factory computer-controlled charging systems.
- Voltage behavior will continue to follow factory charging system programming.
- Not compatible with external regulators unless specifically ordered for external regulation.
- Some vehicles with very low idle speeds may experience intermittent charging conditions. Customers concerned about idle output should consider Mechman's 240 Amp model.
