High Output Alternator for the 2009-2015 Honda Pilot 3.5L V6
The Pilot works hard: family road trips, towing, and cargo-area subwoofers all lean on the charging system. When you add amplifiers, lighting or accessories, a stock alternator can struggle to keep voltage steady, especially in stop-and-go driving. This JS Alternators high output alternator is a direct fit for the stock alternator location on the 3.5L V6 and uses a factory-style plug.
Fits these model years:
- 2009 Honda Pilot 3.5L V6
- 2010 Honda Pilot 3.5L V6
- 2011 Honda Pilot 3.5L V6
- 2012 Honda Pilot 3.5L V6
- 2013 Honda Pilot 3.5L V6
- 2014 Honda Pilot 3.5L V6
- 2015 Honda Pilot 3.5L V6
Available output: 250 amp or 320 amp.
Why upgrade? A quick load check
A 1,000-watt RMS amplifier can draw roughly 80 to 100 amps at full output, on top of what the Pilot's own lights, climate control and electronics already use. The 250 amp option covers most audio and accessory upgrades; choose 320 amp if you're running a larger system or several accessories at once.

Fitment:
This is a direct fit high-output alternator for the 2009-2015 Honda Pilot 3.5L. Being a direct fit, this alternator fits directly into your stock alternator location.
Plug:
This high-output alternator comes with a factory style plug so that your OEM plug will plug directly into the alternator. Therefore, with an OEM style regulator, it will have a factory voltage set point.
NOTE: If you require charging at a certain voltage setpoint, we offer a selection of different voltage regulators that you will need to purchase with the alternator for it to be installed. Individual regulator options (verify compatibility and charging voltage): 14.8V Internal (Pigtail) | 14.8V Self-Excite | 15.5V Lithium | 16V Lithium | GM 1-Wire
Pulley:
This alternator also comes with a smaller pulley, which causes it to spin faster than a larger pulley. This can help the alternator produce its maximum output. With a smaller pulley, it is required to install a 1/2" - 1" shorter belt.
See this Blog Article for assistance in finding the correct shorter belt.
Big 3 Wiring:
When Upgrading to a High-Output Alternator, it is required to upgrade your wiring with the Big 3 Wiring Upgrade Kit (choose a cable length: 4ft 1/0 positive cable kit / 6ft 1/0 positive cable kit / 10.5ft 1/0 positive cable kit / 20ft 2/0 positive cable kit). It is recommended to use 1/0 100% copper wires for the upgrade.
