2007 Honda Accord Alternator Upgrade — 2.4L Four-Cylinder
The 2003-2007 Honda Accord 2.4L ships with roughly 100-130 amps of factory alternator output. That is adequate for a stock car and marginal for anything else. This direct-fit JS Alternators unit replaces it with 250-320 amps in the same location, using the same mounting and the factory plug, with full Honda ELD compatibility retained.

Honda ELD and why Accord alternators fail early on audio builds
Honda's Electronic Load Detection system lets the ECM adjust alternator output based on measured electrical load, so a healthy Accord can read 12.5-13.5 volts at highway cruise. That is normal. What is not normal is running the factory alternator near capacity for years: a modest 500-watt RMS system adds roughly 50 amps on top of the car's own draw, and the alternator that should last past 120,000 miles starts failing at 60,000-80,000 instead. Replacing it with the same stock-output unit repeats the cycle. Detail in our Honda Accord alternator guide and Honda ELD charging system explainer.
Fitment:
This is a direct fit high-output alternator for the 2003-2007 Honda Accord 2.4L. Being a direct fit, this alternator fits directly into your stock alternator location.
Plug:
This high-output alternator comes with a factory style plug so that your OEM plug will plug directly into the alternator. Therefore, with an OEM style regulator, it will have a factory voltage set point.
NOTE: If you require charging at a certain voltage setpoint, we offer a selection of different voltage regulators that you will need to purchase with the alternator for it to be installed. Individual regulator options (verify compatibility and charging voltage): 14.8V Internal (Pigtail) | 14.8V Self-Excite | 15.5V Lithium | 16V Lithium | GM 1-Wire
Pulley:
This alternator comes with a smaller pulley, which causes it to spin faster than a larger pulley and helps the alternator produce its maximum output. With a smaller pulley it is required to install a belt 1/2 inch to 1 inch shorter than stock. See this blog article for assistance in finding the correct shorter belt.
Big 3 Wiring:
When upgrading to a high-output alternator, it is required to upgrade your wiring with the Big 3 Wiring Upgrade Kit (choose a cable length: 4ft 1/0 positive cable kit / 6ft 1/0 positive cable kit / 10.5ft 1/0 positive cable kit / 20ft 2/0 positive cable kit). It is recommended to use 1/0 100% copper wires for the upgrade.
