NHRA News Update Camrie Caruso’s First All-Star Callout

NHRA News Update Camrie Caruso’s First All-Star Callout

The 2022 NHRA Rookie of the Year Camrie Caruso continues her meteoric rise in the NHRA Pro Stock drag race world. Following her performance in Charlotte, Caruso qualified for the NHRA Pro Stock All-Star Callout. The first of its kind specialty race is set for May 20th at the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals in Chicago. The race will pit eight of the best Pro Stock drivers head-to-head in a star-stubbed event.

The drivers at the top of the NHRA standings will get to choose their opponents for the first round. From there the drivers with the quickest time will get to choose their second-round opponent from the three other remaining drivers, setting the other side of the bracket as well. The final round will feature the two fastest drivers for ultimate bragging rights.

“You look at the talent of the drivers and the quality of the Pro Stock cars. I know this is going to be a great event for the fans and the class,” said Caruso, when she saw the official list of participants. “I know my dad was keeping up with my qualifying position all weekend in Charlotte since that was the last chance to earn points. It was cool to clinch racing the Big Jeff Audio Chevrolet Camaro since they are a new sponsor for our team.”

An amazing opportunity for the young driver’s NHRA career to keep rising in the sport. If you can’t make it in person, you can catch highlights of the All-Star Callout on Fox Sports 1, Sunday May 21st at 4pm ET.
