The Big Sound Podcast is coming up fast and we have just one more guest to preview before the big show on Thursday May 11th, at 7:30 pm ET. Our inaugural episode will have XS Power Batteries, Shawn Mayo and I had the honor speaking with him for our mini profile interview. Shawn had his heart in car audio from a young age. He began entering competitions in high school and sold audio equipment on the side to pay for his own equipment. From there he attended car shows and made numerous connections in the industry. After a while word got around that Shawn had a knack for buying and selling audio equipment. That’s when Scottie Johnson brought him in to be a representative for their audio sales. Shawn didn’t stop there, he went on to run the XS Power competition team, and is a multi-time world champion. On the sales side he has worked with dealers, competitors, and even major racing organizations.
Since his early days in the industry, Shawn has seen some significant changes to the size and power of audio products. The innovation of audio production is at an all-time high, allowing for louder performance from smaller setups. Technology has advanced to provide more efficient power and a bigger sound.
We also spoke about the XS Power Show coming this July 15th. Shaw said at the XS Power Show he has more freedom to roam the grounds than he would at other shows and allows him to talk with many people from around the industry. He described it as a celebration, where manufacturers and enthusiasts alike gather to have fun and see some amazing products and builds. On top of that, the all-day affair has food, a drag strip for the speedsters, and no limit on how loud you can play your system.

Great subs but after owning them for 8 months now i already had to recone them once... i have them on a taramps 5k i have a d6500 in the rear and a d5100 under the hood.. and just can't handle the power... i do like them and they def sound real good.. but wish i would have bought 4 instead would recommend if your gonna toss a 3k on em cause they do get down and they're loud!

I BOUGHT A 3RD ONE A COUPLE MONTHS AGO AND HAVE BEEN PUTTING IT THROUGH IT ALSO AND IT DONT MISS A BEAT RUNNING THEM 3 ON A KICKER KXA 2400.1 AT .67 OHMS FIXIN TO GET A 4TH ONE AND PUT THEM ON SAME AMP AT .50 OHM .... I LUV THESE SUBS
These boxes are A+ quality! I don’t see how they sell for this cheap! It would cost me more than I paid to make it myself which I have in the past. Great service and quick shipping.
