This week we have a dedicated episode to just one guest that will give us time to really get into the business of car audio but also have fun with the guest and viewers. We have JR Mares from Massive Audio joining us this week. Massive has been an industry leader since 1999, using its in-house engineers to create high quality audio products. JR has been in the industry since 1985, starting “Bassic Perfection” back when he was in high school. Being that he was too young to get a business license at the time, he convinced his mom to partner with him to resell audio equipment. They would go downtown on weekends to purchase products, then he would take them to school to resell the equipment.
The industry has changed a lot since then and JR is excited to see the evolution of power in car audio. Being able to go beyond 12 volts means high performance possibilities are more intriguing than ever. Brands are fighting for space and their position in advertising, but the best brands are not necessarily the best sellers anymore. We’ll see how a company stands out in an intense industry and see what Massive has in the works next when we get to speak with JR about the company live this Thursday at 7:30pm ET. Been using the sa12s for the past 7 years and have been a huge fan of them. Super loud and can take a real beating. Sound quality is nice and feels solid
Haven’t had subs in years. Thought I’d pick up a lil something to mess around with. For under three bills this is a nice setup for the novice. Amp is quite powerful and pushes these subs quite well. Bigger amp is in the mail looking forward to Father’s Day. Now I’m hooked and I wanna go pro. Thanks a lot Jeff created yet another bass head.
Could not find a way to update or edit my original review so adding to it this way. Since last review I have upgraded amplifiers to the deaf bonce aak 4000.1D (purchased here) and upgraded my alternator to the mechman 320a alt (also purchased here) and have upgraded my wire from 4 awg ofc to 0 awg ofc with 4/0 welding cable being my primary run to the back. This subwoofer handles this amplifier amazingly well. I am not sure what I'm getting out of the amplifier but I've done all I can to get the most out of it and tuned using an oscilloscope. Still this 4,000 watt amplifier is not enough for this subwoofer. Most definitely it is hitting VERY hard but no where near being maxed out. Now I'm curious to see how much clean power this subwoofer can handle. Attatching pictures of how it is set up now. Again THANKS BIG JEFF!!
I can’t believe that I never heard of massive audio. This subwoofer is the best sub I have ever heard.
