This weekend was filled with a thrilling group of races at the Las Vegas NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was roaring as the dragsters took to the line. Pro Stock Driver Camrie Caruso had a strong showing following her win in Arizona and semifinal effort at Winternationals. Caruso qualified for a top 8 spot going into race day and was set to go head-to-head (to-head-to-head) in a tough bracket against No. 1 qualifier Matt Hartford, No. 16 qualifier Jerry Tucker and No. 9 qualifier Erica Enders.
Caruso had an impressive reaction time of .015 off the line, but the car instantly experienced tire shake that required the reigning 2022 NHRA Rookie of the Year to abort the run. Having narrowly missed the cut to advance to the second round, Caruso understands that the season will have its ups and downs.
“We didn’t get the round win, but I am confident in this car’s ability. I was glad I had a good light, and we will take the positives to Charlotte. This stretch of three races has been pretty good. You're going to have days where you lose, some days you are going to win and sometimes you are going to have tire shake.” said Caruso.
Caruso hopes to build on this weekend’s Four-Wide performance at her next NHRA race, the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. There she will be introducing her new sponsor Big Jeff Audio to the drag racing world. This will be Camrie’s first time racing in Charlotte, her home town, and Big Jeff is proud to be part of the event live and in person. You can see Camrie and Big Jeff this April 28th at the zMAX Dragway in Charlotte or on FS1.
